Screen Printing at PrintClubLondon

Yesterday I went to PrintClubLondon screenprinting workshop in London to finally learn how to screenprint! I have been wanting to go on this course for ages as I never had the oppurtunity to learn how to do it at college or university (£3000 a year down the drain there then...) Their site can be found here, where you can book a days screenprinting beginners course for the bargainous price of £45. Marvellous!

Needless to say it was so so good, and I now have the screenprinting bug! Have so much respect for people who print more than one colour, as it is so hard to get it right first time! There were some amazing prints around the studio on drying racks and whatnot and can't wait to see all the work at Pick Me Up at Somerset House in London in April.

Here are some snippets of what my prints look like, limited edition screenprints will be available to buy soon. Some of them have some happy accidents on them where the ink bled through into the white space, but I actually really like it, and have one of the 'imperfect' ones hung on my wall, as I kind of prefer it to the perfect one!

Paramore - Now

Here it is!

Love it, have it on repeat. It's got beats, Hayley's amazing powerful voice (although in parts I do think she could have belted it out a bit more), catchy lyrics and lovely guitar riffs with all the shouty angst of youth that we have all come to expect from Paramore. Comparing it to the others that have been before, it seems more polished and together, maybe not as raw as some of their older tracks, which do make them better, I'm hoping that this will all come on the album.

I already had it stuck in my head this morning whilst in the shower!

Enjoy...

New Paramore tomorrow, excited much?!

Those who know me well, will know that I am a BIG fan of Paramore. Before the dubstep, before the love of Jay-Z, before Drake, before being obsessed with Annie Mac, before Hype Machine, before Ecelectricity, there was Paramore. And there will always be Paramore. Because hiding away there will always be a lil bit of that angsty emo with the side swept fringe, listening to crushcrushcrush on repeat in the car singing my heart out, or belting out Misery Business with my good friend Kimberley Polmeer, in Tom's bedroom, in 3rd Year of Uni, on rock band. Yip.

A set list of the new 4th album has already been released, although we will have to eagerly await until the 9th April before it gets released in it's entirety. 17 tracks. What a treat.

iTunes Top 25 Played doesn't lie... and clearly my alliance lies somewhere in the middle of Paramore and Jay Z...

So the news that a.) there is a new single out tomorrow and b.) there is a fourth album out in April excites me so much you do not even know.

They have released this teaser video a few weeks or so ago..

Cannot. Wait. I shall have my ear firmly pressed to the internet tomorrow.

For now, for old times sake...

Disclosure feat. Aluna George - White Noise

Love.

HYPE(RMAGHERD)! I'm in remix-mashup heaven.

You all know that I a little obsessed with the Hype Machine. Don't even know how these beauts from their Music Blog Zeitgeist slipped under my nose, but thanks to my twinny who is just about obsessed as new music as I am, I now have them in my life.

Major Lazer never fails to disappoint and Hood Internent done good.

OH, and did I mention you could download them FOR FREE! Hype Machine. I love you.

Happy Sunday y'all.

DJ Earworm United State of Pop 2012 (still can't beat '09)

DJ Earworm has released his annual mashup of the year's top hits in the form of United States of Pop 2012 (Shine Brighter).

In my humble opinion, 2009 (Blame it on the pop) is still number 1, the year that I graduated, there are a lot of memories of playing this stupidly loud before heading out on our last nights as students. And it's all the songs that we heard when we were out that year. Kings of Leon, GaGa, Pitbull, Flo Rida, Ke$ha, Black Eyed Peas. All the songs you love to hate :)

2012 is getting there, better than 2011 which was a bit lack lustre. I reckon 2013 he could smash it. Don't let me down DJ Earworm!

Below is 2012, and then below that, is the wonderous 2009 mash up. And if you want the ultimate DJ Earworm experience then below '09 is DJ Earworm United States of Pop 2007-2011. 24 minutes of mash up magic...

Nothing like a bit of GIRL power on a bleak Thursday lunchtime.

New video/track from Santigold.

One word. GIRLS.

Dubby RiRi with a 90s RnB sample thrown in for good measure...

New favourite from the album.

As well put from the Manning, tracks 1-4 not so good, 5 onwards, I'm starting to love!

I found myself singing along to this the first time it came on, and had a niggly feeling I had heard it before. I was right.

Both versions are below, once you hear the original, you will know it for suuuuure (especially the intro!)

Rihanna - Jump

Ginuwine - Pony

If my life had a soundtrack - Song #13 Silver Sun Pickups - Melatonin

Song #02

Silversun Pickups - Melatonin

WHEN: 2007

WHERE: Driving from Pittville Campus back home

DOING: All of us piled into Duncan's death trap of a car, him driving too fast, this playing way too loudly, and the windows steamed up so no one could see where we were going, especially Duncan. Who was driving. I'm sure one of us would have been holding his iMac for him too, sorry I mean laptop, no I mean iMac.

WHO: Duncan Kelly, Kim Polmeer, James Brown and Me (the ones who used to bother going into uni, you know, to do work and that)

WHO: Always reminds me of Em Dixon - I just remember you liking it as much as me!
